About the Role

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Outstanding Training & Career Path)

  • Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

  • Salary: £50,000 (Pure Days) | Up to £55,000 (Days/Nights Rotation) + Overtime + Bonus (1% - 10%)

  • Shift Pattern: Your Choice of 4-on/4-off DAYS ONLY or 4-on/4-off Days & Nights

Why This Role?

If you are a mechanically biased engineer looking for a business that actually invests in its staff, keeps hold of its people, and maps out clear progression, this is it.

Our client is a highly successful, growing manufacturer boasting one of the best reputations in the region for staff retention. They aren’t looking for a finished, flawless "superstar" on day one—instead, they are committed to providing unrivaled, structured training, including full electrical upskilling, and paying for certifications like 18th Edition, NEBOSH, or IOSH.

In fact, the current Engineering Manager started here as an apprentice and worked his way to the top. He’s ready to show you the ropes and help you map out the exact same career path if you want it.

An Unbeatable Benefits Package:

  • Financial Peace of Mind: Up to 10% contributory pension, annual bonus (1% to 10%), and 6x salary death-in-service cover (on or off duty).

  • Health & Well-being: On-site gym (just £20/month including a free Personal Trainer), Simply Health cash plan, and even access to an on-site chiropodist.

  • Work-Life Balance: 24 days holiday + Bank Holidays, plus an online platform loaded with high-street discount vouchers.

  • Tools & Gear: All high-quality PPE and specialist tools are fully provided.

What We Need From You:

We are looking for a capable, motivated mechanical engineer who wants to learn and progress. To be successful, you will need:

  • Qualifications: Level 3 technical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds) or a completed Apprenticeship in a mechanical engineering discipline.

  • Core Skills: Strong mechanical competence with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, belts, chains, and fabrication.

  • Experience: Ideally 4+ years maintaining and repairing special-purpose machinery.

  • Background: Heavy industry, FMCG, food, packaging, plastics, distribution, automotive, or foundry experience is ideal.

  • Ex-Forces Welcome: We highly value military experience (RAF, Navy, Army, REME) and will support your transition into manufacturing.
