Business Development Manager – Power Industry
Long Beach, CA
Pay Range USD $120,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr. plus bonus
The Mission
Our client is an industry leader in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for complex energy and process facilities. They don't just design systems; they bring industrial-scale visions—from carbon sequestration to microgrids—into reality.
We are seeking a High-Energy, Technically Apt Business Development Lead to spearhead our expansion. While we are champions in RNG and Biogas, your goal is to break new ground in hydrogen, sustainable fuels, carbon capture, and beyond. This is a consultative, vertical sales role for a "hunter" who speaks the language of engineers and the ROI of executives.
How You’ll Drive Impact
- Market Expansion: Identify and capture new industrial opportunities where our EPC/M expertise provides a competitive edge.
- Relationship Architect: Leverage your existing network to open doors in adjacent energy sectors (Hydrogen, LNG, Power, etc.).
- Technical Translation: Turn complex customer needs into viable EPC service offerings and preliminary project scopes.
- Deal Closing: Navigate long-cycle, multi-million-dollar contracts and public infrastructure deals from prospecting to final signature.
- Strategy & Insight: Collaborate with the Business Unit Director to refine product-market fit and develop winning pitch materials.
- Presence: Represent the firm at major conferences and site visits, projecting high credibility and a proactive sales mindset.
The Target Verticals
You will be the tip of the spear in entering or expanding within:
- Clean Energy: Hydrogen (SMR/Electrolysis), Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), Geothermal, and Waste-to-Energy.
- Power & Infrastructure: Microgrids, Data Center cooling/backup, and Microturbines.
- Carbon & Gas: $CO_2$ sequestration/liquefaction, Cryogenic distillation, and Small-scale LNG.
- Industrial Process: Mining waste, Food & Pharma, and Industrial Air Separation.
Who You Are
- The Expert: You have 10+ years of experience in project development or technical sales within the energy/industrial infrastructure space.
- The Strategist: You understand the full EPC lifecycle, project funding mechanisms, and federal/state energy incentives.
- The Communicator: You are as comfortable writing a technical proposal as you are delivering a keynote speech.
- The Professional: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil) or Energy Management. (PE License is a major plus).
- The Traveler: You are ready to be on the road 75-85% of the time to meet clients where they are.
