We are seeking a proactive and experienced engineer to join our dynamic team, driving essential maintenance, strategic projects, and critical safety standards within our large-scale manufacturing process.
What You'll Be Doing:
Maintenance: Expertly diagnose and swiftly rectify control system failures to maintain continuous operation. Project Work: Lead the design, specification, and installation of cutting-edge control and safety systems (PLCs, BPCS, SIS, DCS, SCADA, HMI, etc.). Management of Change (MOC): Review and approve MOC proposals, performing subsequent programming and modification of control systems. Collaboration: Act as a key liaison, building strong relationships with internal teams, control system suppliers, system integrators, and contractors. SHE Excellence: Champion a safe operating culture, ensuring all installations and maintenance meet the highest safety, legal, and company standards. Development: Assist with the training and development of department resources in control systems.
Your Essential Expertise:
Allen Bradley Mastery: Proficiency in configuration and programming using: RSLogix 500 Studio 5000 FactoryTalk View Safety & Compliance: Good understanding of functional safety design, including SIL (Safety Integrity Level), LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis), and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). Basic knowledge of BS / IEC 61003, 61131, 61508, 61511 and 62443 standards. Documentation: Familiarity with key engineering documents (Cause & Effect diagrams, Loop Drawings, Control Philosophy, URS, FDS, etc.). Communication Protocols: Experience with various protocols including Industrial Ethernet, DH+, Modbus, ProfiNet, Serial, etc. Flexible Attitude: Ability to juggle multiple complex jobs simultaneously and rapidly adapt to changing operational priorities.
Desirable Skills (A Significant Advantage):
Prior understanding of chemicals manufacturing, large-scale processes, Hazardous Areas (ATEX), and Intrinsic Safety. Prior experience in Instrumentation Engineering. Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar engineering drawing tools. Knowledge of OT Cyber Security, IIOT, and AI.
Qualifications:
A minimum of an HNC in Controls/Electronic/Instrument Engineering or equivalent. A further 5 years of practical experience, post HNC, within an industrial manufacturing environment.
