About the Role

Hardware Engineer

$125,000–$150,000

Fort Worth, TX

Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We are looking for someone experienced in designing electrical cabinets, as well as the hard wiring of cells and machines.

We are seeking an experienced Automation Hardware Engineer who excels at bridging the gap between theoretical electrical design and hands-on production floor execution. In this role, you won't just sit behind a screen. You will own the full hardware lifecycle: engineering the electrical schematics and panel layouts, specifying high-performance controls, and actively leading the physical hard wiring and integration of the automation cells.

Who We Are

We are a premier turnkey provider of custom engineered machinery, robotic work cells, and advanced manufacturing solutions. From prototyping to full-line production, we design and build turnkey systems for high-consequence industries, including Defense, Energetics, Semiconductor, and Automotive. Because we build custom, specialized machinery—including explosion-proof and hazardous environment systems—every project we deliver is unique, complex, and built entirely in the USA.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Panel Layouts: Use 2D/3D CAD platforms (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, or similar) to design industrial control panels, electrical schematics, and generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs). Component Selection & Sizing: Select and size critical hardware components including PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, variable frequency drives (VFDs), safety relays, transformers, and circuit breakers.

Hard Wiring & Machine Integration: Lead the hands-on electrical assembly and wiring of custom machinery, routing power and signal cabling through conduit, trunking, and energy chains on complex robotic cells.

Hazardous Environment Design: Incorporate standard practices for explosion-proof and hazardous environment equipment (Intrinsically Safe wiring, purged enclosures) where required by project scope.

US Standards & Compliance: Ensure all panel and machine designs comply strictly with North American standards, including NFPA 79 (Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery), UL 508A (Industrial Control Panels), and the NEC (National Electrical Code).

Testing & Commissioning: Conduct point-to-point wiring checks, continuity testing, and live I/O verification alongside our Controls Engineering team during machine power-up and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).

What We Are Looking For

We require hands-on, high-level expertise in building and integrating systems from the ground up, not just supporting existing installations.

Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in electrical design and physical wiring within industrial automation, custom machinery manufacturing, or robotics.

Dual-Threat Capability: A rare blend of strong technical drafting skills and a practical, hands-on mechanical/electrical aptitude for shop-floor integration.

Schematic Mastery: Proficiency in reading, creating, and modifying complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

EMC & Noise Mitigation: Solid understanding of proper grounding, shielding, and cable segregation to ensure robust Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).

Sector Knowledge: Experience designing machinery for defense, aerospace, or explosive/volatile environments is a massive plus.

Compliance Mindset: Familiarity with UL 508A and NFPA 79 is highly preferred.

Why Join Us?

True Turnkey Ownership: See your designs move from a blank screen to a physical, working machine built right here in our Texas facility.

Diverse Projects: Skip the monotony of mass production. Every system we build is a custom solution to a complex engineering challenge.

Stability & Growth: Work with a trusted, ISO 9001:2015 certified partner with a 35+ year legacy supporting critical US infrastructure and defense initiatives.

Competitive Benefits: Comprehensive health, vision, dental, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
