Are you an experienced and driven Maintenance Supervisor looking for a pivotal role in a dynamic environment? We're seeking a skilled leader to join our team in Birmingham, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.

 

In this crucial position, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of your shift, providing expert guidance and support to our Maintenance Craft team. You'll tackle technical challenges head-on, ensuring our operations run seamlessly and safely.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

Leading Your Team: You'll inspire and motivate your team to efficiently complete all planned maintenance, address breakdowns, and manage other shift-based tasks. Your strong leadership will ensure optimal productivity throughout the shift. Technical Expertise & Oversight: While primarily office-based, you'll maintain a regular presence on the shop floor. This hands-on approach will allow you to oversee daily operations, provide essential technical guidance, and stay on top of any downtime issues. Safety & Compliance: As an EP3 and Shift Incident Controller, this is a Plant Safety Critical role. You'll be the responsible person for NaK and high voltage incidents, ensuring strict adherence to Health and Safety policies and best practices. Permit to Work Management: You'll be responsible for the accurate issuance and completion of Permit to Work and Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) by both our Maintenance Craft teams and external contractors, ensuring all activities align with company processes.

 

Who We're Looking For:

You're a time-served apprentice in an electrical or mechanical discipline, or hold a recognised qualification in this field. You have proven experience leading teams in a maintenance or engineering role. You possess strong leadership and motivational skills, capable of driving your team to achieve timely completion of tasks, breakdowns, and project work. You've completed, or are willing to undertake, an IOSH qualification. You're flexible and willing to work a reasonable amount of overtime to provide cover for other Supervisors when needed.
