Our Aerospace Division are working with a leading international aerospace parts manufacturer.

 

What You'll Do:

As our Operations Manager, you'll be the driving force behind our operational success. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Operational Excellence: Develop and execute robust operational strategies that boost efficiency, uphold quality, and enhance profitability.
  • Continuous Improvement Champion: Spearhead initiatives that relentlessly improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strategic Leadership: Own and guide all aspects of business unit performance, ensuring seamless alignment with company goals.
  • Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and unparalleled operational excellence.
  • Compliance & Standards: Guarantee strict adherence to all regulatory, customer, and internal company requirements.
  • Lean Transformation: Drive the successful implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize production processes.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Take ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure that every decision is backed by solid data.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships across engineering, quality, and production to enhance workflow and process effectiveness.
  • Problem Resolution: Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to swiftly resolve operational challenges.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage the business unit's financial performance, meticulously controlling costs and adhering to budgets.
  • Culture of Growth: Champion an environment of continuous learning, professional development, and strong team cohesion.
  • You will be responsible for managing a team of approx. 100 staff.

 

What You'll Bring:

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of manufacturing experience, including at least five (5) years in a dedicated leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications (These will set you apart):

  • Formal training and practical experience in Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with ERP systems and business processes, particularly in Planning and MRP.
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing operations within the aerospace industry.
  • Exceptional technical, quantitative, and analytical skills.
  • Superb interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Strong project management and presentation skills, with the capability to design and deliver effective training programs.
  • Proven team leadership and strong organizational skills.
  • Adept influencing and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to dissect problems, pinpoint root causes, and implement efficient solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • A track record of effective collaboration with internal stakeholders at all organizational levels.

 

Work Environment:

This role involves up to 10% travel for visits to other company sites, suppliers, or industry events. You'll split your time between office and shop floor environments, where personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is mandatory. Occasional lifting of up to 20-30 lbs. may be required. Flexibility for occasional weekend and evening work is appreciated to meet critical priorities and deadlines.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary ($140,000 - $180,000) and a comprehensive benefits package, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. This full-time, on-site position in Thomasville, GA, is eligible for relocation assistance.
