The Role: Field-Based PLC Technical Support Engineer
This is a dynamic, hands-on role focused on supporting and commissioning critical PLC and automation systems across customer sites nationwide.
Location - Field, US (Base location is Kennesaw, GA – Relocation assistance offered!)
Travel - Up to 60% travel to customer sites. You will typically travel between job sites and Kennesaw, GA, with 3-4 days of turnaround time each month.
Starting Salary - $70,000 per annum base, plus per diem, plus overtime, plus full benefits.
Expected Earnings - $85,000 - $95,000+ total compensation is typical for this role, highly dependent on travel/overtime.
What You Will Do:
You will be the on-site technical expert responsible for the effective deployment and sustained operation of advanced automation systems. Your key responsibilities include:

Commissioning: Lead the installation and commissioning process for new and existing PLC systems to ensure they meet all operational requirements and standards.

Technical Support: Oversee, manage, and provide advanced technical support to customers for PLC systems, promptly addressing and resolving performance and reliability issues.

System Deployment: Ensure the effective deployment and operation of Profinet monitoring systems to enhance warehouse automation and control.

Training & Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation and provide effective training to customer staff on system use and maintenance.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for system improvements to enhance overall efficiency and performance.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a proactive, problem-solving engineer with a passion for industrial automation.
Education & Experience:

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and direct work experience.

Proven experience in PLC system implementation and commissioning is essential.

Strong knowledge of Profinet and other industrial communication protocols.
