Robotics Engineer
Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
Robotics Engineer (Electrical Design & Integration)
$125,000–$150,000
Fort Worth, TX
Full-Time, Permanent
The Opportunity
We are not looking for a maintenance technician or someone who simply keeps existing lines running. We are seeking a pure-play Robotics Engineer who can take a robot completely "out of the box" and transform it into a fully functioning, high-performance automated operation.
If you thrive on true greenfield integration—designing cell layouts, configuring kinematics, programming complex paths from scratch, and handling the physical and software handshake with broader factory systems—this is the sandbox you’ve been looking for.
Key Responsibilities
Out-of-the-Box Integration: Lead the full lifecycle setup of new robotic arms (6-axis, SCARA, Delta, and Cartesian) from unboxing and physical mounting to final calibration.
Robotic Programming: Write clean, structured, and optimized robot code from scratch for various applications (e.g., material handling, high-precision dispensing, assembly, welding, or vision-guided picking).
System Integration: Configure communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet) to seamlessly integrate robots with PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, and factory networks.
Kinematics & Tooling Setup: Define tool center points (TCP), payload schedules, user frames, and coordinate systems. Integrate end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) such as pneumatic grippers, vacuum systems, and complex servo tools.
Simulation & Layout Design: Utilize robotic simulation software to validate reachability, cycle times, interference zones, and cell layouts before iron hits the shop floor.
Testing & FAT: Perform rigorous path testing, singularity resolution, cycle time optimization, and safety zone configuration (e.g., Fanuc Dual Check Safety - DCS) through to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
What We Are Looking For
Proven Integration Track Record: 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience taking industrial robots from raw delivery to full production deployment.
Multi-Platform Capability: High proficiency with at least one major industrial robot brand (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa/Motoman) with the adaptability to pick up others.
Vision System Experience: Experience integrating 2D and 3D robot vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, Fanuc iRVision) for part localization and inspection is highly preferred.
Safety First Mindset: Deep understanding of robotic safety standards (ANSI/RIA R15.06 and OSHA compliance), including the integration of light curtains, area scanners, and safety interlocks.
Bespoke Problem Solvers: The ability to work without a blueprint. You must be comfortable troubleshooting unexpected physical or software barriers during complex, first-of-their-kind builds.
Why Join Us?
Zero Monotony: We do not run production lines. Every project you touch is a custom, engineered-to-order solution to a complex manufacturing challenge.
True Ownership: You will see the entire lifecycle of your work, watching your code move a multi-million dollar custom cell right on our floor.
Stability & Legacy: Work with an established, ISO 9001:2015 certified partner with a 35+ year reputation for supporting critical US defense, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing infrastructure.
Competitive Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision packages, a competitive 401(k) match, and paid time off.
