About the Role
Trade (Export/Import) Compliance Manager
Location: Hereford
Salary: £70,000 to £80,000 plus benefits
We're seeking a Trade (Export/Import) Compliance Manager to lead our compliance activities at our manufacturing site in Hereford. You'll be the expert on-site, ensuring we adhere to all UK and U.S. regulations, including ITAR and EAR. This is a crucial role for someone with a sharp eye for detail and a proven track record in trade compliance.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the full spectrum of trade compliance at the Hereford facility. Your main duties will include:
Managing Compliance: You'll oversee all export and import activities, ensuring they meet UK regulations as well as the U.S. ITAR and EAR. Documentation and Audits: You'll ensure proper documentation for all international shipments and conduct regular internal audits to spot and fix any potential risks. Training and Development: You'll develop and deliver internal training programs to increase compliance awareness across the site and maintain our internal processes and policies. Collaboration: You'll work closely with the Senior Trade Compliance Manager and other internal teams like logistics and shipping to ensure smooth, compliant operations.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be a key part of our leadership team, helping us maintain our high standards for global trade.
Who We're Looking For
We need a skilled professional with significant experience in trade compliance, particularly with military and dual-use products and licensing. You should have a deep understanding of UK and EU regulations, as well as the U.S. ITAR and EAR.
The ideal candidate will have:
A bachelor's degree and proven experience in a trade compliance role. A strong knowledge of international shipping processes, including export declarations, commercial invoices, and licensing. Experience with internal audits and developing training programs. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and trade compliance software.
Bonus points if you have experience working directly with government agencies or knowledge of automated trade compliance systems.

Salary: £70,000 to £80,000 plus benefits

This position is subject to ITAR regulations, which require the successful candidate to obtain a UK Government Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance.
