About the Role

Estimator

Lincoln, Lincolnshire

£45,000 to £50,000 basic, plus car

 

Following a period of continued growth, we are looking to recruit an Estimator for a leading player in the airfield civils, airfield lining, highway civils, and road marking sectors. They are a specialised contractor, servicing major schemes across the airfields and highways for many of the country’s Top 100 contractors nationwide.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction, civil engineering, highway, and airfield projects.

·       Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine scope of work and resource requirements.

·       Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project profitability.

·       Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate cost data.

·       Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

·       Review and analyze historical project data to identify trends and improve future estimates.

·       Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and pricing information.

·       Present estimates to clients and negotiate contracts.

·       Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

·       Proven experience as an Estimator in the civil engineering or groundworks industry.

·       Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and labor costs.

·       Proficiency in estimating software.

·       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

·       Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

·       Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
