About the Role
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (x4)
Birmingham Salary: £50,000 + Overtime 4 Days on 4 Days off (7am – 7pm)
Due to expansion, we're seeking 4x Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to join a leading international manufacturing business. Working as part of the Engineering Maintenance Department.
Candidates will need to have CNC experience.
The purpose of the role:
This role plays a key part in the development and upkeep of both new and established equipment. The successful candidate will work within a culture of continuous improvement, promoting a “right first time” and preventative maintenance mindset.
The main duties are to:
Provide preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance support across the plant and facilities. An interesting and varied team-based role, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities for routine maintenance, across various equipment including Manual lathes, Millers, Planers and Bar Peelers – some hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance on equipment and facilities across the plant.
Support routine and non-routine maintenance tasks as part of a team-based environment.
Work on a wide range of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to:
Manual Lathes Milling Machines Planers Bar Peelers Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing downtime and enhancing productivity.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
An innovative and dynamic team player with a proactive attitude. Qualified and experienced in maintaining machine tools (Manual or CNC). Minimum ONC or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering. Strong hands-on mechanical engineering background. Effective problem-solving and fault-finding skills. Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Desirable:
Skilled in fitting, machining, and welding. Experience in gearbox disassembly and rebuild.
This role is hands-on and based on the shop floor. The individual must be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment that requires teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to strict safety protocols.
