About the Role

Career Opportunity: Planning Apprentices (x2) – Birmingham Plant

Are you looking to kickstart your career in the heart of industrial operations? We are searching for two motivated Planning Apprentices to join a leading manufacturing facility in Birmingham.

This is a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced Planning Department, reporting directly to the Business Planning Manager. You won't just be watching from the sidelines—you'll be an integral part of the supply chain from day one.


The Role: What You’ll Be Doing

As a Planning Apprentice, you will master the "behind-the-scenes" mechanics of a major manufacturing site. Your key responsibilities include:

  • SAP & Purchase Management: Learning to navigate SAP to raise outwork Purchase Orders and manage material flow for subcontractors.

  • Logistics Coordination: Managing transportation for sub-contractors, maintaining registers, and overseeing the invoicing/GRN process.

  • Inventory Control: Issuing production "cards" and managing material movements to ensure ERP system accuracy.

  • Sustainability & Waste Management: Taking charge of onsite scrap and swarf management, including scheduling processing and transport.

  • Quality Compliance: Ensuring rigorous documentation retention in line with company protocols.

 

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for candidates who are organized, eager to learn, and ready to take initiative.

  • Education: Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above), including English & Maths.

  • Tech Savvy: A solid competency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Communication: Ability to communicate professionally across different departments.

  • Mindset: A self-motivated individual with a strong sense of urgency and a knack for problem-solving.
