Press Operators – Birmingham
Location: Birmingham, UK
Shift Pattern: Full Continental Shift Pattern
Salary: £55,000 per annum + Overtime & Competitive Benefits Package

We are currently seeking a number of skilled Press Operator to join a world-class manufacturing team at a leading plant in Birmingham, UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of heavy industry, utilising advanced equipment like the Davy press to convert ingots into high-specification forged products.
The Role at a Glance
Primary Goal: To optimise furnace and press operations, ensuring material meets strict quality specifications and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Press Operation: Operate the Davy press and associated equipment to maximise production and achieve precise material sizes and properties.
Furnace Management: Load furnaces strategically to optimise throughput and prepare furnace charges accurately.
Material Handling: Operate large-scale materials handling equipment and forklifts, ensuring the safe movement and identification of materials.
Quality & Compliance: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) meticulously, completing all process sheets and documentation with high accuracy.
Team Collaboration: Maintain a safe, clean workplace and participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
What You Bring to the Team
Safety-First Mindset: A high focus on safety protocols and a "safety-first" attitude is essential.
Technical Experience: Proven experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment, specifically with hot metals and heavy machinery.
Licences: Valid Forklift Truck Licence and experience in lifting/slinging.
Communication: Excellent numerical and written skills with the ability to work effectively within a high-performing team.
Attention to Detail: Ability to follow complex instructions and job cards to the letter.
