About the Role

Recruitment Consultant – Automation & Robotics

Location: Hybrid / Home Based (West Midlands / Midlands Hub)

Salary: £50,000 + Uncapped Bonus & Commission Scheme

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced technical recruiter who thrives on autonomy rather than micromanagement?

At Cruise Control Recruitment, we do things differently. Founded on over two decades of industry expertise, we specialise in high-complexity industrial recruitment for the engineering, automation, and robotics sectors. We don't believe in heavy-handed KPIs or clock-watching; we believe in delivering elite results through deep sector knowledge and strong relationships.

We are looking for an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join our growing team. If you know your way around an automated PLC line, understand the nuances of SCADA systems, or speak the language of aerospace and advanced manufacturing components, we want to talk to you.

The Role

This is a hybrid, home-based position offering genuine flexibility. You will manage the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, leveraging our established brand and your own engineering sector expertise to connect top-tier technical talent with cutting-edge manufacturing and automation businesses.

360° Desk Management: Manage and grow a desk focused specifically on technical and engineering roles within the Automation, Robotics, and Advanced Manufacturing sectors. Client Advisory: Partner with specialist engineering firms to understand their highly technical briefs and deliver precise talent solutions. Candidate Sourcing: Utilise our extensive database, advanced digital tools, and a massive professional network to headhunt passive, high-calibre engineering professionals. Autonomy: Manage your own pipeline and day-to-day schedule without rigid, arbitrary call-time targets.

What We’re Looking For

Proven Technical Recruitment Experience: A solid track record of recruiting within technical engineering sectors, specifically Automation & Robotics (or closely related fields like Aerospace, Automotive and Advanced Manufacturing). Industry Fluency: You must understand technical job specifications and be comfortable talking shop with engineering directors and technical stakeholders. Self-Starters: Because this role is predominantly home-based, you need the discipline, drive, and commercial acumen to manage your desk independently. Strong Communication: Excellent relationship-building skills, with a track record of utilising social and professional networks (like LinkedIn) effectively.

What’s in it for You?

"We give you the tools, the technology, and the freedom to do what you do best: recruit."

Base Salary: £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience). Lucrative Bonus Structure: A transparent, uncapped commission model that directly rewards your hard work. True Hybrid/Remote Work: Enjoy the balance of home-based working with the support of a collaborative Midlands-based network when you need it. No Micro-Management: Work in a mature, high-trust environment where results matter more than rigid metrics.
