About the Role
Following a period of continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Senior Estimator for a leading player in the airfield civils, airfield lining, highway civils, and road marking sectors. They are a specialised contractor, servicing major schemes across the airfields and highways for many of the country’s Top 100 contractors nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising a small team of estimators.
- Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction, civil engineering, highway, and airfield projects.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine scope of work and resource requirements.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project profitability.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate cost data.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review and analyze historical project data to identify trends and improve future estimates.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and pricing information.
- Present estimates to clients and negotiate contracts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the civil engineering or groundworks industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and labor costs.
- Proficiency in estimating software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain quality of service by ensuring good quality communication with both customers and colleagues.
Ensure that reports are well written and legible
Implement site quality procedures, safety procedures, and any statutory procedures
Hold regular meetings with the Maintenance Operations Manager to discuss activities and progress
Provide maintenance service support, including to the installed system
Ensure that all spares usage issues are logged accurately and timely with the customer and our spare parts team
Ensure that supplied tools and equipment are well cared for and are always in a presentable/usable condition
